Reducing teacher workload with practical AI tools

DIFF is currently researching and exploring AI tools to support teachers — starting with assessment, marking, and differentiation.

Through our work supporting students and families, we see first-hand the pressure teachers face — particularly around assessment, marking, and meeting diverse learner needs.

Before building anything, DIFF is speaking directly with teachers and school leaders to understand where time is genuinely being lost.

We’re currently researching:

  • Time spent on marking and assessment preparation

  • Creating mark schemes and model answers

  • Differentiation across mixed-ability classes

  • What tools teachers currently use - and where they fall short
